I'm Eddie. I've been a second-line helpdesk engineer at Ocado Technology since 2022, working up from a forklift driver to a trusted second line helpdesk engineer. It was here I learnt the value of automation, spec-driven changes, and the importance of questioning "the way things have always been done". I run a homelab that started as two Raspberry Pis running Pi-hole and Wireguard, and is now a seven-VLAN network with opinions. Somewhere in between I picked up the habit of writing things down, mostly so future-me stops reopening tickets past-me already closed.

I'm looking for a third-line or infrastructure engineer role where the answer to why isn't this automated yet? gets more than a shrug. I do my best work at the layer where a bad decision at 2pm becomes a war story by Friday — and I write the war stories up, because the postmortem is the part that actually makes you better.
